Lakes Letter Redux

This inaugural edition of Lakes Letter marks the revival of IAGLR's quarterly newsletter, a member-driven initiative designed to foster engagement and community connection following a 2018 survey. With an introduction from IAGLR President Michael Twiss, the issue highlights the association's expanded advocacy efforts through the Consortium of Aquatic Science Societies and announces an increased conference schedule, including a 2020 partnership with the IISD-Experimental Lakes Area in Winnipeg. The publication features practical advice for attendees of the upcoming 2019 conference, spotlights diverse member profiles ranging from early-career researchers to industry partners, and honors three beloved colleagues—Al Beeton, and Norine Dobiesz, and David Rathke.
